Vote Labour in May Elections

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec elit sem, gravida ac sodales nec, sodales iaculis mauris. Pellentesque at justo quis justo tincidunt porttitor pharetra vel tellus.

My name is Hanif Abdulmuhit and I am a local resident. I work for a national charity in central London. I am a governor at Elmhurst & Shaftesbury primary schools and run a local supplementary school & sports club. I am a community campaigner & organiser who is committed to listening to and working with residents to improve the area so people are proud to live here.

I am one of three Labour candidates standing in Green Street West, to support and work hard for local people. The other two are: Idris Ibrahim and Tahmina Rahman.

On 22nd May the choice is simple, if you wish for us to continue to work hard for people in Newham, vote Labour.

Here are our pledges, remember them, and ask us about them if we get elected:

1. Council Tax Freeze: This has been frozen for the 6th year running. Labour will aim to continue to have the lowest Council Tax in outer London and we will aim to keep it frozen over the next 4 years - supporting local people where it really matters!

2. License Landlords: Labour will continue to reduce anti-social behaviour and improve accomodation in the private rented sector by licensing all privately rented porperties. Newham is the first and only Council in the country to do this, and now others are following in our footsteps, because it works to keep unscrupulous landlords in check. While a vast majority are decent and law abiding, there are a few who need to be held to account for their utter disregard for thier tenants and the community.

3. Building Homes: Labour will build a minimum of 3,000 homes for rent and buy at least a further 500 existing properties with a target of ensuring half of them have some rental subsidy, meaning they will be  genuinely afffordable to local people, within the next 10 years.

4. Your Family: Labour will work with our schools to continue the excellent improvements in exam results. Continue Free School Meals for Primary School Children, Every Child a Musician programme giving 3 years free tuition, Every Child a Reader providing 1:1 tution, and Every Child a Sportsperson schemes giving children the opportunity to try 20 different sports.

5. Our Older Residents: Labour will continue to fully fund the Freedom Pass providing free travel on public transport, including buses, Tube, trains and the DLR.

6. Local Policing: Labour will continue to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and crack down on those who abuse our streets. We will also ensure we have a dedicated enforcement officer in each ward.

7. Getting Residents into Work: Labour will continue to invest heavily in Workplace which has been massively successful getting 20,000 Newham residents into work - 15,000 in the past three years alone.

8. Streets and Lighting: Labour will invest an extra £4 million in each of the next 4 years to improve our roads, pavements and lighting. Making Newham look better and feel safer.

With the savage cuts imposed by the Tory government, people are feeling the squeeze. It is Labour who will stand with people in Newham and support residents through these difficult times.

On 22 May 2014 there will be 3 elections:

1. Local Government Election to elect local Councillors

2. Mayoral Election to elect Executive Mayor for the whole of Newham

3. European Parliamentary Election to elect members of the European Parliament

In Green Street West ward of Newham, please vote for me, Hanif Abdulmuhit, Idris Ibrahim and Tahmina Rahman for the 3 council seats in the ward. ALL 3 for Labour Party.

For Newham's Mayor re-relect the current Mayor by voting for the Labour Party candidate Sir Robin Wales.

For the European Parliament please vote for ALL the Labour Party candidates.
